We can be a great nation again
When I was a young, a wise person told me that a good
reputation was difficult to maintain and easy to lose.
The foundation and principles upon which the United
States was formed ---and that it was valiantly fought
to maintain – have been compromised by the veil of
government secrecy.
Freedom of thought, speech and choice – in the name of a
free society - have been thwarted through use of fear
tactics. The country has gone off-track and we, the
people, must become the engineers that stop this
runaway train.
 When I was young I was also told that “water seeks its
own level.” It is obvious that this magnificent country’s reputation is eroding and losing its glory. We
have allowed ourselves to be manipulated, mishandled and
misguided. We have become aggressors of hate, torture,
corruption, lies and deceit. We have stooped to the level of the enemy.
Osama bin Laden may not have won the battle, but if we
don’t speak up, he will eventually win the war.
Our country has become divided by religious ideology
and contempt of others who don’t agree. We are all
citizens of this great country, whether we live in a
“red” state of “blue” one.
Let us never forget that the American flag has stripes
of white, inter-mingled with red and blue. Let the white
stripes in our flag represent compromise and truth.
We are at a crossroads. We must stand together so that
we will regain the respect of the world and regain
our reputation as a nation of freedom and free will.
This is the way to win the war on terror.
